The insurances

I’ve been to the ER last night for back, leg and stomach pain. It’s been 4 days that I’ve been saying the pain will go away until I vomited and couldn’t bear the pain anymore.

I’ve stayed in the ER from 6 pm to 10 pm. 4 long hours to know that my problem was a stone causing all this pain.

But my problem could have been diagnosed in 1 hour if it weren’t for the insurance’s mafias.

20160821_105655_resizedAfter I have arrived, the ER team came and asked me some general questions and asked me to provide them with a urine sample. While “preparing” the sample, the insurance representative calls my brother and tells him “we have received the doctor’s report and we cannot cover this case” and my brother asked him: “what does the report say? The doctor did not even show up to tell us what’s wrong and we’ve been here for 20 min and they just asked for samples to check what her case is”. And the insurance guy replies back: “she has only been covered for 8 months with us. She might have had this case previously and hidden her problem just so she can benefit from the insurance and this is directed by the ministry”.

20160820_201805-1_resizedThen the ER team took a blood sample and gave me a serum and a pain killer and asked us to wait for the results. We have waited for an hour before someone from the ER team came and asked us: “did you decide if you want to pay for the fees of the tests?” The question came after 1 hour of supposedly waiting for the results.  What were we doing in the ER room then? Was I just reserving a room to take a nap there? Don’t they think that they might receive another more serious emergency and they have a room with people there doing nothing but waiting?

Anyway, we asked them to proceed with the results even if the insurance does not want to cover the fees because it’s a new world order and I am part of the conspiracy of sucking the insurance’s money that we are actually paying to “benefit” of a decent treatment when needed.

After waiting again, the ER team came and told us that it seems it’s a stone in my kidney with a high infection. They asked us if we are willing to pay for the CT scan as it is costly and should reveal the location and size of the stone so proper diagnosis and treatment procedures can be given. And of course, I wanted to leave from the ER with a complete result so I said “of course; I need my results after all that.”

Eventually, after 4 hours, I’ve received the final doctor’s report with the required treatment and have paid myself for the emergency because the insurance company thinks I’ve been hiding the stone for the past 8 months just to take advantage from their “benefits”.

I should be dying the next time I go to the ER; but wait; the insurance might not cover a dying case because well, it’s a dying case and the person is dying anyway, let this person pay just before he/she dies.

So why on earth do we pay for the insurance and then have to pay ourselves the emergencies? Note that the same issue happened to a close friend where the insurance also refused his case which was more serious, although he has been insured for 10 years with the same company.

I think that it is better to cancel insurance payments as I am contributing to the continuous existence of their mafia and because I’m paying double: I am paying them for a class A treatment to supposedly be covered and then I am paying myself the hospital fees because the insurance thinks that there is a conspiracy theory that involves them from people in pain.
